Statement of Faith
Want to learn more about David’s Tent USA? We are an interdenominational ministry committed to:
- The authority of the Word of God–The Holy Bible,
- The Lordship of the Son of God–Jesus Christ,
- The work of the Spirit of God,
- The mission of the church of God.
We believe that the Bible is our statement and standard for all belief, instruction, practice, and policy. We acknowledge the historical roots of Christianity that have shaped the theology and orthodoxy of our faith and use the Nicene and Apostles’ creeds as summaries of the gospel consistent with scripture.
We are committed to ministering to God in night-and-day worship (Revelation 4:8; Leviticus 6:12), partnering and communing with God in prayer and intercession (Ezekiel 22:30), and telling others about Jesus with the good news of the gospel (Matthew 28:18-20).
We direct the affairs of our ministry in a manner concordant with scripture and have adopted specific core values and other policies that guide our vision and govern our policy (2 Timothy 3:16).
We believe in Biblical Christianity expressed most clearly in the worship, following, and Supremacy of Jesus Christ (Col 1:15-20). We believe that Jesus is the only way to the Father (John 14:6) and that no other is worthy of our worship (Exodus 20:3). While honoring the branch of Israel we are grafted into, we exclude all other religions, faiths, and belief systems.
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary sexes together reflect the image and nature of God (Genesis 1:26-27). Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.
We believe the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture (Genesis 2:18-25). We believe that marriage between one man and one woman, for life, uniquely reflects Christ’s relationship with His Church (Ephesians 5:21-33).
We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (1 Corinthians 6:18; 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4). We believe that God has commanded that no sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.
We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, cohabitation while unmarried, homosexual behavior, rejection of one’s biological sex, or use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God (Matthew 15:18-20; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10).
We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ (Acts 3:19-21; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11).
We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31). Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor values of David’s Tent.
We believe all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life (Psalm 139).
Final Authority for Matters of Belief and Conduct
The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of David’s Tent USA’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our Board of Directors is David’s Tent USA’s final interpretive authority on the Bible’s application.
Political Disclaimer: David’s Tent is to be a place of worship and prayer for the unified Body of Christ to lead with the message of the supremacy of Jesus and His infinite worth to receive all our worship. Our one message, what we lead with, is the exaltation of Jesus. Our cause is the right of Jesus to be Lord and receive the worship of every person. We ask all worship leaders and prayer leaders to focus on the beauty of the Father, Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit and pray in accordance with our primary message of Jesus being worthy of the life, praise, and worship of all people. We specifically ask participants to refrain from speech that is overtly partisan and would politicize David’s Tent.
Though we do have a vetting process to apply to lead time slots, David’s Tent USA does not necessarily endorse any message that may come from the participating worship or prayer leaders.
Core Values
WE DO THIS BECAUSE JESUS IS WORTHY.
Jesus’ perfect obedience to his Father broke the power of death and every sin that debases mankind. Fully God and fully man, he succeeded where each of us, since Adam, has failed. The cleanness and freedom that every heart longs for is now within reach–in Jesus. We want to be a voice for our nation, shouting “THANK YOU” to Jesus!
LOVING JESUS IS OUR ONLY AGENDA.
We are a place of worship and prayer for the United States to minister to Jesus continually through a 24/7 musical prayer meeting. We humbly acknowledge the supremacy of Jesus and His infinite worth to receive all our worship, praise, thanksgiving, and adoration. Our target is always the exaltation of Jesus Christ. Our cause is the right of Jesus to be Lord of all. We do not mix that mission with other agendas.
WE LET OUR LIGHT SHINE
We are so in love with Jesus that we just cannot resist introducing others to Him. Our staff and volunteers constantly watch for opportunities to personally share the good news of Jesus with those who come to the Tent. We ask for the Holy Spirit to show us those whose hearts are open to an invitation to know Jesus, to receive prayer, or simply to be touched by kindness.
THE TENT IS A CELEBRATION!
“The sound of joyful shouting and salvation is in the tents of the righteous” (Psalm 118:15). Our songs are focused on thanking, adoring, and praising Jesus more than laying our requests before Him. We want to inspire a culture that values and delights in Jesus above all else.
EVERYONE’S SONG IS VALUABLE.
The worship leader’s role is not to perform, but to lead all participants in their personal worship offering of love to Jesus. The Church’s great love song will be lacking if any voice is silent.
WE HONOR ALL BUT EXALT ONLY JESUS.
We invite the Church’s finest talent to lead us, but all titles, achievements, and accolades are left outside the Tent. We gather around Jesus’ throne in equal humility, exalting only Him. We count it a privilege to become a nameless, faceless generation that makes famous the name of Jesus alone.
WE EMBRACE UNITY AS PART OF OUR OFFERING.
We seek to gather worship teams and believers from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and even from around the world, so that together we may with one voice glorify God. (Romans 15:6, Psalm 133). The perfect unity Jesus prayed for in John 17:21 is our destiny, and we are called to be a place of unity for the interdenominational church of like-minded believers to lead worship and minister to the unbelieving.
WE HONOR JERUSALEM.
We are inspired by David’s expression of devotion in setting up a tent in his capital city for the ark of the Lord’s presence. But we are under no illusion that our nation or any other has taken the place of Israel in God’s plan for mankind. God calls himself “the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,” and we honor their descendants.

Did you know that the most successful governmental administration in the history of the world had, at its center, a tent where worship songs went up to God 24/7/365? It was David’s Tabernacle in Jerusalem 3000 years ago. This is the story of that tabernacle, and the testimony of how God Himself has brought back this type of public expression in the heart of Washington DC. David’s Tent is a book filled with invitation and hope for the nation and the world…
